Foluyinka Fakoya

Foluyinka joined GPE's Global Advocacy Team from the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) where she supported the Gender, Economic Empowerment, and Livelihoods portfolio. Prior to both roles, she worked as a consultant for the World Bank Poverty Global Practice on enterprises in Tanzania and for Jesuit Refugee Service on gender-responsive education programming.

Foluyinka was also a Program Officer at The Education Partnership (TEP) Center in Nigeria, where she supported the scaling up of innovative education interventions, and has taught at a public secondary school in Kaduna, Nigeria. She has experience managing diverse partnerships and has worked with, among others, the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services of Zambia, the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria, the MacArthur Foundation, and The Brookings Institution.

Foluyinka earned a Master’s in Global Human Development from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a BA in Economics and Sociology from Amherst College.
