Foluyinka Fakoya
Global advocacy specialist, GPE Secretariat

Foluyinka is an Advocacy Specialist at the Global Partnership for Education, focusing on advocacy around climate change and gender equality in education. She has played a key role in GPE's participation in forums like COP and Women Deliver and leads the GPE’s Global Youth Leaders' group to amplify youth involvement in advocacy.
Previously, Foluyinka contributed to the Gender, Economic Empowerment, and Livelihoods portfolio at the International Center for Research on Women and facilitated educational interventions at The Education Partnership Center in Nigeria. Her background includes teaching in Kaduna, Nigeria, and working with organizations such as the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services of Zambia and the Federal Ministry of Education of Nigeria.
Holding a Master’s in Global Human Development from Georgetown University and a BA in Economics and Sociology from Amherst College, Foluyinka's educational expertise is complemented by her experience in managing partnerships and advocating for inclusive education policies. At GPE, she continues to champion gender advocacy and youth engagement, contributing to GPE’s strategic presence at key educational and policy events.
