Mr. Opiyo Makoude is an evaluation researcher and policy analyst. He has over 26 years of experience in managing and evaluating donor-funded projects in the Eastern Africa region and sub-Saharan Africa across multiple sectors, which include education (systems) quality improvement; human rights (civil liberties, persons with disabilities, women, youth and children’s rights); health and health systems strengthening; youth employment policies; and economic governance and public sector management.

Until November 2023, Makoude worked as the Senior Technical Research Advisor on the Back2School project at the Graca Machel Trust. Makoude currently works as the Research and Evaluation Director at Innovia Research Consulting, a pan-African development policy and research evaluation organization based in Nairobi, Kenya.
