Kate Morris
Communications Officer, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
Kate Morris

Kate leads the communications for the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition based at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. Her interests lie in the power of communications to bridge the gap between research, policy and people, thus contributing to sustainable community-driven health change.

Prior to joining LSHTM, Kate worked as marketing officer at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) in Bangkok, and later as communications officer for Amref Health Africa: Africa’s largest public health NGO specializing in increasing access to health services across the continent through community-led solutions.

She is particularly interested in the role of ethical storytelling in changing the landscape of global development communications, challenging racist or misrepresentative depictions of the Global South and creating an enabling environment for affected communities to tell their story in their own words.
