Catriona Forbes
Architect and educator
Catriona Forbes

Catriona has worked as an architect, project manager, builder and educator across Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe. She primarily works with communities, teaching design and construction skills through practice, to enable people to build more sustainably. Her approach is to use natural materials and to build on traditional skills to create buildings and places that are appropriate for the 21st century. She sees a successful project as one whereby a community is left with an example of sustainable building and, more importantly, people have the design, construction and communication skills to continue to improve their built environment and pass on their knowledge to others.

Catriona trained as an architect at Cambridge University and The Bartlett (UCL).
