Mrs. Simone Yankey is currently a Senior Policy Officer in charge of Girls and Women’s Education at the African Union/International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education in Africa. Prior to this position, she was a Senior Program Officer at the AUC Gender Directorate and also worked as social worker in Belgium and legal adviser in Ivory Coast.

She holds two (2) Master’s degrees in Policy and Development Management from the Institute of Politics and Management of the University of Antwerp (Belgium) and another Master in Human Rights of the University of Louvain in Belgium.

Her vision is "An Africa where girls and women are socially, economically and politically empowered through quality education throughout their lives.
