Emily Garin

Emily Garin is the Senior Director for Advocacy at Sesame Workshop, where she leads the organization’s efforts to ensure that every young child can grow smarter, stronger, and kinder with supportive early childhood development opportunities. She previously spent nearly a decade with UNICEF, where she oversaw cash transfer programs for vulnerable families in Liberia and Iraq, authored publications on topics ranging from child mortality to international migration, and led a new team focused on using data to improve children's lives.

Prior to joining the UN, she worked with Liberia's Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs and served for several years as a legislative advocate in California. Emily holds a Bachelors in Politics from Princeton University and a Masters in Public Affairs from Princeton's School of Public and International Affairs.
