Daniel April

Daniel April joined the UNESCO GEM Report team in 2018 and is currently an associate project officer. In his role, he coordinates the PEER project and focuses on matters concerning the teaching profession and school management. Prior to this, he served as an academic director at the Université Sainte-Anne (Nova-Scotia, Canada) and worked as a teacher. He also contributed as a research associate at Université Laval (Québec, Canada). His academic background includes a Ph.D. in educational administration and policy studies, a master's degree in educational administration and evaluation and a B.Ed. in French second language education from Université Laval. He also holds certificates in Spanish and English languages.

Currently, he is a student in the International Cooperation and Solidarity program at the Université de Montréal (Québec, Canada). Daniel has made significant contributions to research publications, actively participates in educational events and projects and holds the role of Vice-President of Communications for the Association pour le développement de l'enseignement et de la recherche en administration de l'éducation (ADERAE) since 2016. He received the Governor General's Academic Medal of Canada twice and the 2020 Thomas B. Greenfield Award for the best Canadian doctoral dissertation in educational administration.
