He is a member of the House of Representatives and belongs to the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), the ruling party in Japan. He currently serves as the Director of the Youth Bureau of the LDP. In the past, he has held various important positions in politics. In the Cabinet, he served as Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. In the House of Representatives, he served as a board member of Foreign Affairs Committee and other committees. In LDP, he served as deputy chairman of the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee, deputy chairman of the Agriculture and Forestry Subcommittee, and deputy chairman of the Fisheries Subcommittee.
