Anthony Boateng

Mr. Anthony Boateng is currently the Deputy Director-General (Management Services) with Ghana Education Service (GES).   

Mr. Boateng holds a bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Cape Coast. He completed the Ghana School of Law in 2002 and is a senior member of the Ghana Bar Association. As part of his service to GES, he’s served in the following capacities: Head of Legal Unit, Director of Human Resource Management Division, Director Special Education.

As the Director- Special Education Division of GES, he led the development of the Ghana’s Inclusive Education Policy, which was launched in May 2016. Under his exemplary leadership, the Inclusive Education Policy was internationally recognized as one of the most innovative policies in 2016 – under the zero project. Due to his outstanding and immense support for the implementation of Inclusive Education, he currently serves as the Chairman for the Inclusive Education National Steering Committee in Ghana. He has also served as the secretary at the GES Council for some years and has rich experience in management of Ghana’s Education Sector particularly at the pre-tertiary level.  

He is supporting and guiding the Technical Working Group with the development of the KG Policy Framework and leads on the first Action Area 1: “Effective Planning and Management”. 

Lawyer Boateng (as affectionately called by his colleagues) aspires to bring transformational positive change in Ghana’s Education System (at pre-tertiary level) in the areas of:  EQUITY! ACCESS! QUALITY!
