Mar Botero is a specialist in international development, citizen engagement, and education. She has led knowledge mobilization strategies to support public policy decision-making and capacity-building programs, establishing strategic alliances and advocacy campaigns with governments, international organizations, philanthropic foundations, and civil society. Mar has worked with institutions such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), United Nations Volunteers (UNV), the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), and TECHO - International, accumulating extensive experience across Latin America and the Caribbean.

She holds a Master's degree in Communication and Education, with complementary studies in Human Rights and Communication for Social Transformation. Currently, Mar serves as the Knowledge Mobilization and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Lead at the GPE Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) for the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) Hub, implemented by SUMMA (Laboratory for Education Research and Innovation for Latin America and the Caribbean) and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS).
