Education and Health go hand in hand-without a healthy mind and body education is lost. Let's start taking mental health more seriously. Let's empower the world's children with a deep sense of themselves and their own innate intelligence and place in the world, alongside traditional education. Educating our children includes teaching them self-managing strategies and giving them an understanding of their unique inner lives and ability stay in contact with life's intelligence- a gift to all who are born. Mindfulness practices do just that; reconnect with an inner calm and clearness of mind outside the turmoil of self-doubt,emotional confusion,uncertainty, lack of self-worth. Evidence-based research shows us again and again- mindfulness practices are simple, easy to do and secular. Why don't we start looking at ways we can integrate these simple self-managing strategies, that have been proven to increase executive function in children- into our education programs?

That recommendation was echoed by the President of the General Assembly, who emphasized how much negotiations launched earlier this month in Bonn must make “substantive progress.” Highlighting what a “meaningful” agreement in Paris should include, the Secretary-General said that first, it “must” provide a strong signal to governments and markets that the world is committed to building a low-carbon future, “and that there is no going back.”
