The Sustainable Development Agenda compels us to work together beyond sectors to reach our vision for a better future for all. There can be no real progress towards one of the goals without progress in others and this message rings particularly true for the health and education sectors. Children must not only be healthy to learn, but they have to learn to be healthy as well.
This World Health Day we are calling attention to how linking health and education can save lives.
Better educated people are much less vulnerable to health risks, and when mothers in particular are educated they are more likely to make healthier choices for themselves and their children.
