Ulilia Chamisa Magombedze

Ulilia is a dedicated Programs Coordinator and Manager for all CARE Education programs in Zimbabwe. She plays a pivotal role in the National Education space, collaborating with policymakers, academics, researchers, and development practitioners. Her focus is on sharing effective models and best practices to ensure that education continues to thrive, even amid disasters, pandemics, and prolonged crises.

Ulilia is particularly passionate about empowering girls to overcome barriers to education. She aims to help women and girls achieve their life goals and aspirations, thereby enhancing their agency. Over the past seven years, she has spearheaded initiatives in the education sector, concentrating on critical areas such as education and climate, gender, skills development, and economic empowerment, particularly in fragile rural communities.

As a team leader and builder, Ulilia is outcome-oriented, self-driven, and adaptable, demonstrating a strong commitment to humanitarian and development work. She brings 15 years of experience working with international NGOs to support vulnerable communities.

Her academic credentials include a BSc Honours in Geography and Environmental Studies, an MSc in Development Studies, and an MCom in Strategic Management.
