Tarek Chehidi

Tarek is Teach For All’s Global Head of Future of Work. He works with Teach For All teams, network partners and stakeholders to design and implement the Future of Work Initiative. Tarek has over 20 years' of experience in global education. He is a recognized leader in developing and implementing large-scale innovative educational solutions, education policy and strategy, strengthening capacity of ministerial leaders and enabling transformative partnerships across ecosystem stakeholders. Before joining Teach For All, Tarek held leadership positions with organizations such as Results For Development, GESCI (the Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative founded by the United Nations ICT Task Force), the Association for the Development of Education in Africa and the Ministry of Education of Tunisia where he served as an advisor to the Minister between 2002 and 2011.

Tarek is a member of the Digital Learning Working Group, UNESCO’s Expert Group on Best Practices in Mobile Learning, the joint ITU (International Telecommunication Union)-UNICEF-UNESCO Working Group on School Connectivity and the team of experts that drafted the African Union Commission’s Continental Education Strategy for Africa.

Tarek has deep practical experience supporting under-served communities and entrepreneurs to launch and scale solutions to address social and economic challenges. In 2019, he cofounded ReBootKamp (RBK) Tunisia to support youth in Tunisia and Libya to access training in software programming and jobs. Tarek holds a Ph.D. in Area Studies from Sophia University (Japan). In 2008, Tarek was made Knight of the National Order of Merit for his contribution to education in Tunisia.
