Patience Matende
Schools Inspector – Mutare District, Ministry of education, Zimbabwe

Based in Mutare District, Manicaland Province (Zimbabwe), Patience Matende is a Schools Inspector and teacher by profession. Patience’s professional experience, coupled with her educational background has enabled her to play a vital role in promoting inclusive education practices and empowering pupils in Manicaland Province.
Patience contributed immensely to the writing and review of the adolescent development manual which is a complementary Guidance and Counselling Teaching module developed in partnership with Care Zimbabwe’s START4Girls current Project in order to strengthen the teaching and learning of Guidance and Counselling.
Patience strongly supports and promotes an approach which places pupils at the center stage in the learning process, and the teacher assumes a facilitator role. The student-centered approach has proven to be empowering, allowing pupils to discover and develop their skills effectively.
Patience Matende holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree with the University of Zimbabwe and Post Graduate Diploma in Education with Guidance and Counselling as one of the attained Courses.
