Petra Heusser

Petra Heusser has worked for nearly two decades in the international humanitarian field for the protection and education of children, refugees and migrants. Since the establishment of the Geneva Global Hub for Education in Emergencies in late 2020, Petra has served as head of the Secretariat and strategically steers collective objectives.

Petra worked previously for the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility led by UNICEF (the United Nations Children’s Fund) and has extensive field experience spanning Latin America, Africa and Southeast Asia, collaborating with governments, UN agencies and civil society organizations.
