Fumiaki Sagisaka

Fumiaki Sagisaka is an Education Officer at UNICEF New York headquarters working on the Primary Education portfolio of the Systems Strengthening team. His work focuses on building foundational literacy and numeracy skills for all children around the world by enhancing education systems to deliver equitable education outcomes. As a key part of the portfolio, he also leads school health and nutrition programs to protect and promote well-being and development of school-age children through a stronger collaboration across sectors within the education system.

Prior to this role, Fumiaki worked in the Education Section at UNICEF Philippines and UNICEF Sierra Leone, as well as in the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Section at UNICEF Sudan. He is currently completing his DPhil in Education at the University of Oxford. He holds an MSc in Africa and International Development from The University of Edinburgh and a MA in Social Sciences from Hitotsubashi University.
