Elsa Duret is responsible for the instruction, financing and supervision of programs in support of sectoral education policies on an Africa portfolio for the Education, Training, Employment division.
Before joining AFD in 2018, she worked more than fifteen years in many countries in sub-Saharan Africa (Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria, Senegal), in the Middle East (Yemen) and in South East Asia (Vietnam) for many partners (NGOs, UN organizations, consulting firm, bilateral agency) to support the transformation of education systems to offer quality education to every child. She also worked at the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and holds a Phd in Development economics.
