Aline Nizigama

GPE youth advocate

Aline was born in a town of Tanzania, Tabora, where her parents were refugees. She started her education at Ecole Francophone de Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania, studying further in two schools in Bujumbura, Burundi. Aline holds a Law Degree from Hope Africa University in the faculty of Affaires and Professional Sciences, where she studied from 2010 to 2015 and has trained on Leadership and Pacific Conflicts Resolution (June 2014, Bujumbura) and Technics of Qualitative Data Collecting (July 2014, Bujumbura). She worked at Rema Ministries, a non-profit that strives to build peace amongst factionalized groups in conflict and crisis situations, in various refugee camps from April to August 2014. She joined YouthGlobe, a non-profit organization that aims to rise the next generation of Burundi leaders through education and entrepreneurship in 2013 where she was the Director of Responsible Citizenship in the Department of Education from 2013 to 2016. Under the supervision of RET International (Refugee Education Trust), she has traveled extensively in rural areas in Burundi to train young people in different communities on leadership and responsible citizenship. Aline believes that every single child should be given a chance to good education no matter what situation she/he is facing.
