Asmara Figue is the Regional Education Adviser with the GPE-funded Education Out Loud Regional Management team for West & Central Africa.

Asmara has an MA in Social Anthropology of Development (specializing in issues related to quality and relevance of education for marginalized children) and over 20 years of experience working on education initiatives in a range of capacities. This includes working with Save the Children as Regional Education Adviser, Education Program Manager and as part of the organization’s Education in Emergencies Response team; with ActionAid as International Project Coordinator for a range of multi-country donor-funded projects and as a freelance consultant.

Asmara has worked in various countries across the continent including Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal, Tanzania and Uganda.
