Republic of Korea and GPE
To date, Korea has contributed a total of US$18,300,387 to the GPE Fund. In 2021, Korea pledged US$15,800,000 for GPE's 4th Replenishment (2021-2025), tripling its previous contribution.
Korea has collaborated with GPE partners to provide co-financing, aiming to accelerate progress on education access and quality in Tanzania and Mongolia. Additionally, as a member of the Global Reference Group for the GPE Tech4Ed Initiative, Korea has been sharing its expertise in using technology to transform education systems in partner countries.
With a significant increase in its official development assistance (ODA) since 2023, Korea has prioritized education as a strategic focus, particularly emphasizing its strengths in digital and vocational education.
Korea hosted the Spring 2015 Board Meeting in Seoul, following the World Education Forum held in Incheon.
