Canada and GPE

Canada is a longstanding partner of GPE, having joined the partnership in 2007. To date, Canada has contributed more than US$520 million to the GPE fund, making it the 11^th largest donor to GPE.

At GPE’s 4^th replenishment, Canada pledged CAD300,000,000 for 2021-2025. Canada’s contributions to GPE focus on girls’ education, a core priority for Canada in line with its feminist development policy.

Canada sits on GPE’s Finance and Risk Committee.

Every child has the right to a quality education, no matter where they live. Canada’s investment of $300 million in the Global Partnership for Education will support girls' education and strengthen education systems for children worldwide.
