GPE funded project in Uganda is enhancing teaching and learning in primary schools
Five years ago, assessments conducted by the Ministry of Education and the World Bank at the primary level in Uganda revealed systemic teacher related challenges that were constraining performance in primary schools.
The Uganda Teacher and School Effectiveness Project (UTSEP) is bringing about noticeable change in the quality of primary education in the country. UTSEP is supported by a US$100 million GPE grant that is improving learning outcomes for millions of children in primary school thanks to a revised curriculum and the provision of instructional materials to boost teaching competencies.
