Suresh Chhetry is the Country Director and Lead Facilitator of mental health and trauma-informed care workshops at Healing Together Nepal. A former English teacher at Bright Horizon Children’s Home and School in Nepal, Suresh served as a mentor, facilitator, and coordinator of the Life Skills and Leadership Development program (powered by Healing Together from 2015-2018) - a social and emotional literacy, peace-building, and healing circle for youth impacted by trauma.

As a survivor of childhood trauma from extreme poverty and sexual abuse, Suresh lives by the values of hard work, positivity, and compassion. His powerful story of healing and resilience is a profound example of how, through love and connection, we can heal both ourselves and others.

Suresh has an MA in English, MPhil and Post Graduate Diploma in School Counselling from Tribhuvan University. He is also the founder and President of Shiva Shakti Youth Club (Est. in 2006) - an all-volunteer, Nepali-led NGO that supports children’s education, women’s empowerment, and youth empowerment projects in Western Nepal.

​Suresh loves travelling, reading books, watching movies, and helping others. He lives his dream of supporting people to break the cycle of harm and build resilience in their communities.
