The Women Deliver conference is one of the largest multi-sectoral convenings to advance gender equality. This year’s conference presents a key opportunity for GPE to center education in the gender equality discourse, recognizing barriers to gender equality within and outside the education system, and positioning GPE as a thought leader in the gender transformative education space.

The conference presents a strategic opportunity to link to other key global moments, including the G7 and G20. It also helps GPE leverage this global convening to advance its priorities and reach concrete outcomes to place gender equality at the core of all our work.

Girls Deliver: Pre-Conference on Adolescent Girls

• Description: This Pre-Conference will convene global stakeholders representing a wide variety of perspectives on how to support adolescents and youth. The event will cultivate a multidimensional approach to adolescent well-being, co-create next steps to build an integrated feminist ecosystem for adolescents at WD2023 and beyond, and catalyze action to advance gender equality.

Tuesday, July 18

Ministerial gender and education learning exchange

• Description: This closed learning exchange with gender equality actors in the public sector will socialize GPE’s operating model and highlight entry points for gender actors to build support and broad political will for gender equality in and through education systems and raise awareness of key issues and opportunities in GPE partner countries.

Harnessing the power of education to end harmful gender norms and stereotypes in schools
