The annual GPE Futures Festival brings together young leaders and policy makers to discuss the critical role of education in shaping the future.

This year's festival titled "Empower and Engage: Education for Skills in a Diverse World" coincides with the African Union's Year of Education and leads into significant events like the Olympic Games and the Summit of the Future, making the 2024 festival particularly momentous.

Taking place on World Youth Skills Day, the festival addresses the job market's need for innovative and sustainable skills, while tackling the unique challenges faced by youth marginalized by their gender, disability or refugee status.

As the global workforce undergoes a transformation, the festival emphasizes the urgency of equipping youth with 21st century skills, a need underscored by the 222 million children and young people currently missing out on quality education.

Building on the success of the 10-point plann for the future, the 2024 festival will explore how these strategies, especially those related to climate change, gender equality and inclusion, can enhance young people's skills for a sustainable future.
