Co-convened at the invitation of the Future Economy Forum and Sekem by the Climate Governance Commission, this high-level COP-27 side event seeks to outline the investment case for why and how education can address the world’s climate crisis.
Leading experts in global education from Dubai Cares, GPE, UNESCO, UNICEF Generation Unlimited, the LEGO Foundation, the Aga Khan Foundation, and others will set the agenda for a year of urgent action to ensure that by COP28, every country has a climate- smart education system.
Objective 1: Invite climate experts to a conversation about the role of education for the future of the planet; creating new linkages between the global education and climate policy, finance and programme circles.
Objective 2: Build awareness of key global education initiatives related to the climate that can contribute to a new global investment case for why climate funding can and should support education by COP28 moving forward.
