Transforming education in Maldives

The Maldives Partnership Compact identifies equity and inclusion as the priority area for system transformation.

The partnership compact identifies the progress that Maldives have made in bringing children to school but acknowledges the presence of strong differences between the different atolls in the country.

The compact identifies the different challenges that the education sector in Maldives face to achieve a more equitable education system, and recognizes that despite enrollment rates being higher in primary and lower secondary, in upper secondary there are marked differences across atolls.
