How do we ensure that all people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized, have the food, water, energy, health care and education they need? What have we learned from existing Millennium Development Goals and what should be added, updated or modified? Is a different approach needed? What policies and practices best promote equitable empowerment of the poor and marginalized to ensure an adequate standard of living? How can employment be meaningfully approached? You can contribute to answering these 4 questions in an online consultation of the United Nations. The consultation gathers suggestions from global citizens, charities and communities that will be collated and used in discussions when the High-Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda meets from 31 October – 2 November, 2012 in London. Michael Anderson, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron’s special envoy on the development goals said “The panel is in listening mode. Panel members want to hear from people and organizations around the world — to hear their experiences, to understand their challenges, and to share their priorities.” Comments can be submitted only online until Friday Oct. 26. After tackling household poverty in London, the high-level panel will be meeting again in Monrovia and Bali where national development and global partnerships, respectively, will be tackled. Please contribute to the discussion using the #Post2015HLP and encourage your partners and supporters to do the same.
