At a preschool in Zanzibar, children learn to count with painted shells. Quality preschool programs don’t have to be expensive: teachers can use everyday objects, like these shells, that can be found easily in their surroundings.
The regional workshop “Affordable Quality Pre-Primary Education” was held this week in Zanzibar with 13 African countries. It helped participants to put into practice the lessons from quality pre-primary programs and expand them to all children, even the most marginalized.
