When GPE Global Ambassador Rihanna called on her "Navy" of fans to join her in asking world leaders to #FundEducation, they listened!
Her tweets were answered by Erna Solberg, Emmanuel Macron, Mauricio Macri, and more! Therefore, it came as no surprise when she was included in this year's TIME 100 list of the world's most influential people.
In addition to Rihanna, it's great to see that several other education advocates and GPE supporters are on the list.
While they're not necessarily being recognized for their commitment to education, we want to call attention to when they raised their voice for children's right to learn.

Nice Nailantei Leng'ete
Nice Nailantei Leng'ete went against her traditional Maasai community and resisted female genital mutilation. She fought to continue her education and used it to convince community leaders to end the practice. She has saved an estimated 15,000 Kenyan girls from FGM and early marriage.
