In Burkina Faso, the National Coalition for Education for All (called Coalition nationale pour l’éducation pour tous au Burkina Faso - CN-EPT/BF) has been particularly active this week.
They launched their “Global Action Week” activities on Monday in Ouagadougou with a national forum to review the country’s progress and challenges in achieving the Education For All (EFA) goals. The coalition organized a march towards the ministry of education with students (including those with disabilities), teachers, young people, and civil society organizations. They called on the government to do its part to ensure that the right to education becomes a reality for all children and youth in Burkina Faso.
On May 7, a “grande cérémonie” will conclude the action week. Education stakeholders, including the minister of education, will watch together a documentary on the status of achieving EFA goals and discuss the results and post-2015 direction for the country.
