Transforming education in Saint Lucia

Saint Lucia has been expanding educational technology to improve the quality of teaching and learning and to ensure education continuity threatened by climate-related disasters. But low learning, an outdated curriculum, and inadequate access for students with special needs call for transformative solutions.

To unlock large-scale and sustainable change, Saint Lucia has prioritized climate resilient technology, infrastructural enhancement and equitable quality educational delivery towards acquisition of 21st century competencies, skills and learning.

Saint Lucia’s Partnership Compact marks the commitment of the government, GPE and other partners to align and harmonize resources to further increase the use of educational technology across the sector.

Teacher training will focus on how to incorporate technology into pedagogy and address students’ special learning needs.

Climate-related interventions include the promotion of green technology, eco-friendly practices in school renovation, and teaching students about climate change.

Better education data collection and analysis will strengthen policy planning, implementation and monitoring.
