African governments reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen their education systems and to prioritize early learning at the 2017 Triennial on education and training in Africa. Co-organized by the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) and the government of Senegal with support from development partners like GPE, this year's event focused on the importance of sharing best practices across the continent and implementing education policies that promote science, technology and innovation.
The leaders in attendance acknowledged that equipping African youth with the knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the 21st century is vital to achieving sustainable development and inclusive growth on the continent, a powerful weapon against extremism and armed conflicts.
