This Ugandan grandmother is proud of her grandchildren who are learning to read. In Uganda and other countries where many children face difficulties in learning to read and count, the support of parents and communities is essential. A recent study by Save the Children titled “Right to Learn: community participation in improving learning” shows that through a three-pronged model (measuring, understanding, changing), progress is possible.
